Yeah, I suck. It's been forever since I've updated but my heart just hasn't been in it lately. With all of the hustle and bustle of lectures, exams, essays, and chasing a toddler around the house, Lord knows I just have NOT had the time.
I was all geeked about going to my lit class today because Pat McEnulty, former heroin addict and author of Sweetfire was supposed to be speaking to us today but her damned car broke down! So now we're going to try to work her into our syllabus for a later date and hope the school decided to chip in some money and get her here soon.
On another note, my sweet baby girl is going to be ONE next Friday. Someone please tell me where the time went?! We'll be flying up to Michigan that Friday and having her party on Saturday. I'm sure I'll be an emotional wreck. No more baby for me. |

So I'm getting Ayanna set for the big number one (that sounds so funny). It is going to be a tinkerbell/peter pan themed party. I found the tinkerbell decorations and am now on the hunt for some economical peter pan supplies. She is going to wear her halloween costume to the party since she will be Tink this year.
 
I'll probably fly up to Michigan that Friday, the 24th, have the party on Saturday, and return on Monday. |

I've been in kind of an emotional funk for the last cuple of weeks so needless to say I haven't really posted. I've just been trying to keep up with my classes and deal with all these conflicting feelings I have on the inside.
RaRa's sister is still here and guess what? I haven't once seen her attempt to find someplace to stay? I was just trying to be nice in having her stay here for a while but either she misconstrued my intentions or is just taking advantage of a great situation: no rent and free meals. Either way, her welcome is wearing out fast.
I can't believe my stinker is going to be one years old next month. I'll most likely fly back home to have her a big party with all of my family. RaRa doesn't have a problem with it, so that's good.

And so another semester begins! Late registration and all, I'm pretty pleased with my courses. My accounting teacher is cool, my statistics teacher is pretty normal, my nutrition teacher talks like something is wrong with her voicebox, and my women in literature (aka girls gone wild) teacher is straight up nuts. This lady curses like a sailor and is so freaking funny, plus she only gave us 5 books to read. When I went to pick up my texts today at Bill's I saw one of the other sections had 11 books. I'm *so* gonna love this class. Most of my classes (3) are on MWF, tuesdays and thursdays are my light days with one, 2 o' clock class.
So I've got 12 credit hours, 400 dollars worth of books, and sheer determination...let the classes begin! |

Someone please fly to Florida and give me a swift kick in the rear if I ever neglect to register for my courses on time. This is awful! I need a fourth class and damned near everything is full!
Right now I'm going to have African American Literature OR Women in Literature (I'm thinking I'm going to go with WIL), yet another Economics course, and Accounting. I really need to get into another Calc or Statistics course but they're all full. My only hope is that someone doesn't to make it to class tomorrow since we have mandatory first day attendance. I'm praying that a good STAT section opens up. |

As much as I HATE cleaning do I truly want to have more kids? Ayanna is straight ransacking this apartment and I just don't have the energy right now to stop her.
I went to bed way too late and got up much too early for my own good. I had to go to stop by the financial aid office and get everything straightened out there so that my money arrives on time. COME ON SEPTEMBER 3RD! I can't wait, there is so much stuff we need around the house. In the meantime I'm considering applying at JC Penny Studio's they're hiring associates to train as photographers and with the people that are already working there I don't see how I could NOT get the job. My portfolio is coming together nicely and I would take that along to the interview to show them that although I don't have any official training I certainly have a way with the camera.
RaRa's sister Angel is staying with us for a while and she braided my hair last night and I am SOOO In LOVE with it. Everywhere we go people are commenting on my hair either that or just staring. RaRa thinks it's so funny, I'm gonna have to take a picture. |

I should've done this update about a week ago when I first arrived in Florida but I guess that would've been too much like right, huh? I've been busy unpacking and getting stuff taken care of before the semester starts on Monday.
There's so much I want to say but we're going to cut this one short because I sliced my finger on a broken glass last Thursday and all this extra moving is making it throb. |

Lawd 'a Mercy can someone please tell me why I'm on the computer at 3 o'clock in the morning. Heaven knows I don't have much longer before Ayanna decides to wake up, yet, I'm all the way live watching 106 & Park while tip tapping away on this keyboard.
Sparkle's mother took us all out to Red Lobster tonight as a treat for my being such a great friend to Sparkle during her pregnancy/birth, et cetera, et cetera. I LUB me some crab legs.
I can't believe I'll be leaving in four days. As much as I'm ready to get back to school and get another semester out of the way, I didn't realize how much I needed and missed my friends. It's so great just to be able to get up get dressed and run over my friends house to hang out. I mean, I have people to chill with in Florida but the friendships aren't quite the same. And while I'm sure the longevity of some of the frienships plays a factor, I think it's bigger than that. I mean, there's only so many people you can connect with on that level and maybe I'm at my max. Who knows.
Anyhow, Sparkle bought me a pretty tube dress as a gift, along with some matching accessories (earrings, necklace, and a ring). She did a nice job picking them out, I can't wait to wear it someplace. I really want to go to the club when I get back and I think I'm gonna look so hot in that dress. Her mother got Ayanna about five new outfits but I don't know if she can fit them because Bunny's a little fatty and they're all sized at 12 months.
